This section includeds several variations of other very useful intervals. Including Octaves, 5ths, and the BOX Octave/5th concept. Once again most exercises have different speeds, starting with whole notes and then to Quarter notes.
We'd suggest starting at the octave lessons, they are a very important and powerful addition to your new skills. These execises are the building blocks of what will eventually be the BOX concept. There are a few options with Octaves including exercises of playing the Octave on the Same string, and Octave on the next/adjacent string. The Octave is a very handy pattern that can be used just like all AXEview scales and can be played almost anywhere up or down the neck.

Here we learn the middle of the BOX and half way through your scales on the other examples. You may notice there are different notes going up the 5ths and going down the 5ths. That happens because intervals are different depending on if you're going up or down. A 5th up is the same as a 4th down. The 5th is also a very powerful addition to your skills, and provides the building blocks to creating chords. This is another useful pattern the can be used just like all AXEview scales and can be played almost anywhere up or down the neck.

The BOX is the combination of the Octaves and 5ths all in one. You may notice the same 5th/4th rules apply as they are different notes going up the 5ths and going down the 5ths. Remember a 5th up is the same as a 4th down. There are 2 variations, the first variation goes back to the starting note of the exercise. This is called ending on the Root. The second variation goes back to the 5ths note in the scale. When you're coming back down the execise you're actually ending on the 4th. This creates what could be considered the building blocks of the Power Chord. This useful pattern the can be used just like all AXEview scales and can be played almost anywhere up or down the neck.
